Well the title says it all....it was a rainy and just plain gross day at the center. After doing the daily preparations such as cleaning and preparing diets we headed over to the big bears to feed them some left over hotdogs from our Easter celebration. When we got there the bears where no where to be seen. So we called to them....still no bears.....but we did spot the coyote from across the enclosure.
So we figured maybe he would come over for the hotdogs...
He definitely liked the hotdogs.....
later on in the day we gave the rest of the hotdogs to Patron when she made an appearance...
Other than the hotdogs we had a typical day at the center...
So around 4:00pm we called it a day. Then we got a call aound 6 or so asking if we wanted to help trim the moose hooves. Um of course we want to!!!! So we hoped into the yukon and drove to the moose enclosure.
The moose whose nails we were trimming is named Chimo.
Then Jack, the other moose, was watching us the whole time...
So after Chimos's nails were nice and trimmed we gave him some biotics and then a reversal to wake him up. He did very well.
So then I was ready to go for a bike ride since the sun finally came out. We went down to Portrage Glacier and back which is about 12 miles. That was a good way to get me very sleepy after a long bike ride like that.
